Donald’s career began assisting and studio managing a number of the top photographers in NYC. Bert Stern, Bill King, Pete Turner and Irving Penn amongst others, as well as a number of the photographers from the Magnum Photos group. He moved to Paris and worked there for a number of French, Italian, German and English fashion magazines before returning to the US.

In NYC his work appeared editorially for several Hearst and Conde’ Nast magazines. Advertising clients included Saks Fifth Ave, Revlon and Lancome. His Fine Arts photography work began in Paris and has continued throughout his photographic career.
